METHODS
- Propose use cases, but be open to other organizations defining the use cases
- Identify existing collaboration between member organizations to jump start standards development
- Define and develop working groups from sponsors and associates that will develop standards and specifications.
- Define and develop joint working groups with Pistoia, CDISC, and HL7
- Focus on defining the implementation standard for interoperability:
- Data standards
- Transmission standards

INITIAL FOCUS AREAS
- Biomarker into target discovery
- Cross-SDO collaboration between CDISC, Pistoia, and HL7 around standards for moving patient data into early stage research (i.e. Bench research).
- Interoperability between BioIT Alliance members: LIMS, ELN, laboratory devices, EMR and related technologies
